The 10th Annual Memorial Run for ALS, a 5K race to benefit The Angel Fund for ALS Research, will be held on Saturday, May 26th at The Gunnery campus, 99 Green Hill Road, Washington, CT. The event, in memory of Sean Bowler (Williams College ’98), begins at 4 p.m.
The event began as a way for Anne and Seth Low to honor their friend and classmate, Sean Bowler who died in February of 2005 from ALS. Up until his last breath, Sean maintained a positive spirit and an incredible sense of humor. He was a teammate of Seth’s at Williams where they were both members of the Men’s Varsity Lacrosse team.
The event held annually on The Gunnery campus in Washington, CT, brings together community members from The Gunnery, the town, and beyond. The organizers have donated the proceeds from the 5K for the past several years, raising about $2000 each year. The event is about community and coming together for a cause that affects so many.
According to the Lows, the race has been held in 36-degree rain and 90-degree heat and everything in between…and somehow, there’s almost ALWAYS a rainbow at the finish line!
Registration is $10 per person, and walkers are also welcome. T-Shirts will be given to registered runners. Dinner provided by The Gunnery dining hall is included.
