Angel Fund Director Joe Ruma, (left), and Founding Director Janice Nigro, (second from right), had an opportunity to meet with marathoners (from second from left) Russ Becker, (first year running) Meghan Osterlind (10th year running) and Angel Fund President Rich Kennedy (27th year running) before the 26.2 mile race. The trio ran the Boston Marathon to help raise awareness of the disease better known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The Angel Fund, a 501 (c)(3) independent charity, benefits ALS research at the Cecil B. Day Laboratory for Neuromuscular Research at UMass Medical Center under the direction of Dr. Robert H. Brown, Jr., a world-renowned researcher in the field of ALS.
